How funny, I’ve also got a layover in Seoul in March 2010, and was thinking of doing exactly the same thing! I’ll definitely be browsing Seo Woo and the rest of Mesa Mall, thank you so much for this post!

Since I’ll be looking for things that I can get cheaper there than in the states, are there specific types of beads or styles of findings that are generally a better deal in Korea? Any more stores that make your list of “must visits” when shopping in the area?

hey rae!

i will be in seoul in march 2010 and i am very excited to have 14 hours to bead shop!
can you give me some advice on how to make the most of the 12 hours lay-over time i have? i have to get to thisstore from the airport and back, as well as ship my purchases back to canada… is this feasible?
any help is appreciated.

I would like to go to korea especially go to namdaemun market shopping, may I know how much for the gemstone and sterling silver (average)? It is expensive or cheap….

Hi again, I know Tiffani carries sterling silver wire, but I am not sure about copper wire. Bench blocks might be sold there, but not sure about that either. What’s there is mountains of gemstone beads, and metal findings. Enjoy!!

Hi Dale, I didn’t realize I got a mention on Dave’s ESL cafe! That’s very cool. :-) To answer your question, I just have my Etsy store, and I don’t have a shop or anything in Mesa mall. Hope you have a nice shopping experience there! It’s better than any shop I visited in NYC, certainly.

THanks for letting me know! I’d love to go check it out sometime. I’ll have to make my way up to that part of the city some weekend.

I’m mostly looking for wire (*NOT* the ‘craft wire’ plastic they sell at Alpha!!). I’m excited by the prospect of maybe finding some propper copper wire there… and maybe even a bench block if i’m very very lucky??
