Welcome to the madness that is Korean wedding. As a form of exorcism of some sort, I have decided to keep an up-to-date photographic chronicle on my sister Nami's upcoming nuptial, in the hopes of capturing the joy and pain leading up to the main event and eventually some early moments of the new family.  Enjoy!

06/22    My first encounter with bro-in-law-2-b, a.k.a. Mr. Lee. Also: 함 /ha-m/, wedding presents from the groom's family. 06/23    When aunties attack. (They are in fact very nice.) 06/24    Adventures in assisting wedding dress picking. 06/25    Insomnia-induced delirium whilst dutifully performing bride-sis's role as a shopping assistant. 06/26-27    Preparing 예단 /ye dan/: a truck load of assorted wedding presents from the bride's family to the groom's.

06/28    The wedding day. 06/29 - 07/02    Post-wedding socialization while gracefully handling subtle and not-so-subtle pressures from relatives and family friends. 07/03    The newly-weds return from honeymoon. Bride's family welcomes with parties, food, karaoke-ing, and sacrificing a fish. 07/04     The new family is welcomed by (e.g. "into") the groom's family. Also: misadventures with 이바지 /i ba ji/ food! 07/05     My sister's new home. Wonderfully decorated by Mom! 07/06    The older sister is finally set free to her unbothered singledom.
